The White Spoon Introduce Their Signature Gin
Last Thursday we launched our very own signature Gin last week at a party held to celebrate the restaurant being open for one year.
The White Spoon Gin has been distilled under a vacuum by a local company, Brennen & Brown Distillery. The botanicals used have been specially selected by Chris and Andy.
The botanicals that make up the recipe for the Gin are blended in a way that ensures it is not over complicated, giving it a simple elegance, and to compliment the unique choice of garnish and serve for a special Gin & Tonic.
The tonic of choice and ultimate compliment being 1724 tonic water. This tonic water is made from handpicked quinine at 1724 meters on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, which is where the quinine tree originates. It is slightly softer and less bitter than other brands of tonic with a mandarin citrus note.
The unique garnish consists of fresh apple, lime leaf and a touch of ground black pepper, giving The White Spoon’s G&T it very own identity and taste.
Having spent the last few months developing the recipe for our Gin it is very exciting to have the final product, and we can’t wait to start shouting about it. The initial feedback from people who have tried it has been very positive and we are now looking forward to seeing how the rest of our customers enjoy it.
It is the start of an exciting period for The White Spoon, as we develop our drinks menu, which will sit alongside our fantastic wine list and complement the great food we serve.
